Current thesis: The Bears expect Hester to be involved in about 15 plays per game. This is likely due to the fact that the Bears signed pro-bowl receiver Brandon Marshall in the offseason. They also have an emerging stud in Earl Bennett and speedy Johnny Knox, who would make a fine slot receiver. Hester’s incredible production on special teams never translated into a dangerous weapon on offense, and this move seemed inevitable as soon as the Bears brought in a decent receiving core.

Fantasy spin: The surgery is being dubbed as “arthroscopic” and points to only a minor issue in Britt’s recovery. Still, this is coming from a guy who is coming off an ACL and MCL tear, an injury that some athletes never fully recover from, so any cause for concern must be considered when looking at fantasy value. Still, Britt is talented enough to be worth the risk in the mid-level rounds of the your fantasy draft, but whether or not he’ll be at full strength by week 1 is a coin flip at best.
